As soon as you walk into The Streetfood Club (TSFC), you step into a total experience. Your senses need a moment to absorb everything you see, smell, hear. From the extravagant interior to the music thumping through the speakers. And that is exactly the intention according to co-owner Wes Schreutelkamp; TSFC strives to create a special experience. “Where some stop at a 7, we at least go for that 9,” says Wes.
Wes Schreutelkamp is one of the eight co-owners of TSFC. He is not an unknown entrepreneur; he is one of the drivers behind some other distinctive and lively hospitality concepts in The Netherlands like Beers & Barrels, Carmel Market and Rum Club. Wes explains the concept op TSFC: “We wanted to create an environment where we ourselves would like to stay all day. An accessible place where the love for hip hop, comfort and luxury come together. Where Latin American and Asian dishes are served that you can eat with your hands. And we succeeded!” Wes is mainly involved in the concept development of the restaurants.
Tropical enjoyment
In Utrecht, TSFC has made its debut and with success. Soon there was talk of rolling out the concept through the Netherlands. The second TSFC location has been located in the former Grand Theatre of Breda. The high-profile and monumental building has iconic value. “With this building you really make a statement. That is why we have established TSFC in this spacious building. Fortunately, guests respond very positively to what we have done with it.
The large space resembles a jungle due to the impressive graffiti of palm trees and wilderness that cover the entire wall. Where the stage and balcony of the theatre used to be, islands with several floors have now been built where people can sit comfortably. It feels like the restaurant there is carved out of the rocks. Despite the fact that almost 400 guests can stay inside, it does not feel crowded by the different zones created. The terrace garden is located in a niche of the street, a real secret garden. With gravel and small pink parasols, the terrace garden has an idyllic cozy atmosphere.

The interior was created through a combination of online research, visiting interior fairs and a good dose of trendwatching. TSFC strives to ensure that guests see something new every time through the colourful colours, organic shapes and unique furniture. This philosophy fits perfectly with the Satelliet Originals brand. A creative collaboration between TSFC and Satelliet Originals to create a suitable furniture concept was a logical step. In every area you can find a mix of standard and custom furniture from the Originals collection that strengthens the distinct and colorful look and feel of TSFC.
